Convenient Hours and Locations

The Tri-Town Driving Program is offered in 3 convenient locations in the Boston area.

We have daytime, evening and weekend classroom sessions to accommodate your teenager’s schedule. In addition, we offer weekly road test services.

As a courtesy to our students and parents, we send email confirmations of class schedule, each driving lesson, and weekly road tests.

Pre-Permit Tests

Once you turn 16 years old in Massachusetts, you can apply for your learner’s permit. One of the requirements is to pass the state Registry of Motor Vehicle’s Learner’s Permit Test.

Before Applying for the RMV Learner’s Permit Test…

Tri-Town recommends that you study the Massachusetts Drivers Manual and complete our pre-permit tests.

In addition to passing the RMV’s test (cost of $30 per test), you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Provide an original birth certificate and/or passport
  • Provide an original social security card
  • Fill out a learner’s permit application (ideally, before you’re waiting in line)
  • Permit Application
  • Learner’s Permit RMV Checklist
Like us on Facebook for info on Classes and Road Tests.
The RMV recently updated and revised its Learner’s Permit Test, which now consists of 25 random, computer-generated questions. You must correctly answer at least 18 questions in 25 minutes to pass.

The new Learner’s Permit Test is tougher than ever before, and more and more people need multiple attempts to pass it. At a charge of $30 per test, the cost of failing can add up fast.

Tri-Town Driving School, which has set the standard for driver education since 1970, has a solution. We’ve developed a pre-permit practice test that allows you to practice and study via the convenience of the Internet. We’re the only local driving school offering this valuable service to our customers.

Prepare for Success

You can purchase a number of our online pre-permit tests. Each test attempt will have 25 randomly selected questions of the same types that you’ll find on the RMV test. And you get 25 minutes to finish, just like with the RMV test. (Remember: A common reason for failure is an inability to complete the RMV’s questions in time.)

You’ll acquire the knowledge and confidence to increase your chances of passing the RMV test the first time. Plus, you’ll become a smarter, safer and more aware driver — today and for the rest of your life.

Please note: Tri-Town Driving School does not issue learner’s permits nor guarantees you will pass the RMV Learner’s Permit Test after you complete our pre-permit test(s). Our tests have been designed to give you a clearer understanding of the types of questions that appear on the RMV Learner’s Permit Test.

We recommend thoroughly reading the Massachusetts Drivers Manual to educate yourself about all relevant laws, rules, requirements, penalties and suspension periods. This will not only aid you throughout all of the steps necessary to obtain a Massachusetts driver’s license, but also help make Massachusetts roadways safer!
